staying hungry : perry's all natural vanilla bean ice cream
Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:53AM I've never met anyone who doesn't like ice cream. (Other than Ross, but we've never actually met.) (Yet.) But I do know lots of people who prefer to eat chemical-free when possible - foods that are not laden with artificial dyes and ingredients that have 87 y's in their title. I'm one of them!
So I was thrilled to be introduced to Perry's new line of all-natural flavors. As per their website, the all-natural flavors are bringing Perry's back to their roots:
When H. Morton Perry made his first batch of ice cream on the kitchen stove, he used a recipe handed down by his mother. No surprise, that recipe didn't include high fructose corn syrup or preservatives. No artificial flavors or colors, either. We make new All Natural Premium the same way, so you can enjoy "enough of the good stuff".
Can I get an Amen?!
I tried the vanilla bean, but Perry's also makes all-natural chocolate, chocolate chip, and maple walnut varieties. Yes, yes, and yes.
Now, let's be honest: if I'm having ice cream, even if it's all-natural, I'm happy to toss all semblance of "healthy" out the window. Bring on the hot fudge and sprinkles! Add peanut butter swirls and brownie chunks if you've got 'em! But sometimes it's nice to keep it simple: a pure vanilla with late summer fruit.
It's the good stuff in life.

See? Easy and uncomplicated and just plain good. Thank you, Perry's!
